Inmates housed at the Van Nuys Valley jail will likely attend court across the courtyard from the jail at the Van Nuys Superior Courthouse. Misdemeanors and warrants attend court the next day after arrest and felonies attend court two days after arrest not including weekends. First arraignment court date for felonies will be heard in Department 100 and first arraignment court date for misdemeanors are heard across the hall in Department 101 both on the third floor. Court opens at 8:30am and in general closes by 4:30 pm.
