This facility was opened in 1980 and can currently house approximately 890 sentenced and unsentenced inmates. This facility, along with the East Valley booking facility, accepts arrestees from every law enforcement agency in Ventura County. We process over 29,000 bookings and releases every year. The types of inmates housed here are general population, violent/assaultive offenders, psychiatric, and inmates needing medical services. Our great team includes over 250 employees, including deputies, Sheriff Service Technicians, intake and release specialists, food service staff, medical service staff and clerical support staff. It is this staff of professionals that keeps this facility operating safely and efficiently 24 hours per day, 7 days per week 

In-person visiting schedules have been created for both the Main Jail and Todd Road Jail. All efforts have been made to maximize visiting opportunities, if there is high demand, there may be times when visitors may not be accommodated. Video visitation, table mail, email and phone calls are also options. 

Visitors are expected to check in with the staff at the Public Reception Lobby one hour prior to the start of visiting.

• Two visitors per visit. 2 adults or 1 adult 1 minor
• Visiting days are on Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday
• There are various visiting sessions each day
• The Public Desk business hours are, 6am – 11pm Monday through Sunday

Bail amounts in Ventura County can vary, Ventura County judges have created what is called a Bail Schedule, what that means is that each criminal charge comes with a specific bail amount. Keep in mind judges can increase these amounts if the defendant has priors or in specific cases where the court deems the defendant a danger to society.
